# Canva Sample — How to Start A six-beat social reel recreated from a Canva screen recording. Everything types on, character by character, in a condensed high-contrast serif over warm low-key photography — and every scene has finished animating by three seconds. ## Scenes | scene | where the copy sits | carries | | --- | --- | --- | | `title-card` | flush left at the head of the frame | brand line, two-line all-caps headline, centred handle at the foot | | `statement` | centred, upper third | two-line headline, then a typed three-line paragraph | | `pull-quote` | low and flush left | three-line quotation, attribution under it | | `side-note` | ranged against the right margin | kicker, two-line headline, one right-ranged sentence | | `chapter-mark` | split — head and foot, picture open between | centred label at the top, two-line headline at the bottom | | `end-card` | centred | call to action over a web address; `meta.silent` | ## The motion One mechanism, measured off the recording rather than assumed: a per-character opacity reveal with `ease: none`, so letters appear in place at a steady rate and the line never reflows. | beat | at | per character | lands | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | headline (title, statement) | 0.20s | 0.055s | 1.52s | | statement paragraph | 1.30s | 0.015s | 2.94s | | quotation | 0.25s | 0.030s | 2.13s | | side-note headline / body | 0.20s / 1.20s | 0.050s / 0.028s | 1.15s / 2.90s | | chapter headline | 0.40s | 0.090s | 2.16s | | call to action | 0.20s | 0.100s | 1.20s | Small lines — the brand, the handle, the kickers, the attribution, the URL — fade rather than type. Each photograph drifts `scale: 1 → 1.03` on `power1.out` and comes to rest at 3.00s. Nothing in the package animates past three seconds, and nothing is anchored to a scene's end: the recording wipes its type back out just before every cut, which is Canva looping its entrance, and none of it is ported. Soft boundaries are `scene.transition`. ## The three renditions Each is laid out against its own canvas, not scaled off the base. `9:16` is the authored one. `16:9` moves the title copy into the left half and the side note into the right half, and drops the type a size. `1:1` keeps the portrait structure on a shorter frame. ## Placeholders The six photographs are stand-ins carried over from another sample pack — warm, low-key interiors that leave each scene's copy band dark. Every one is a `cover` slot at the full frame, so any photograph replaces them cleanly. The palette ships eight variants: four keeping a near-white ink, and four — Acid Night, Electric Violet, Terracotta, Emerald — that carry a colour in the type itself.
