I always wanted to make big bucks with Youtube. Just in the last three years, it has already paid over $107 billion to creators. It's indeed a money-making machine.

But let's be honest—not everyone is comfortable being on camera.

I remember feeling nervous about being on camera. The thought of smiling while talking to a lens wasn't for me. I'd already dropped the idea of starting my channel until some time back when I first heard about the concept of AI-assisted faceless channels.

TBH, when I first heard about this, I was skeptical. I wasn’t even sure if faceless channels can be monetized. But after seeing this Twitter post, I realized that it's definitely possible:

Then, I researched more and discovered some cool AI tools that helped me start my very own faceless YouTube channel. If you're also excited about the idea of earning big without ever showing your face, keep reading.

This guide will walk you through creating a successful faceless YouTube channel with AI. I'll cover everything from choosing your niche to making your first video. By the end, you'll be ready to launch your faceless channel and tap into the potential of AI-driven content creation.

Choosing Niche for Your Faceless YouTube Channel

Imagine you're up late, editing videos, and instead of feeling drained, you're actually enjoying it. That's what picking the right niche can do for you. It's not just about attracting viewers; it's about keeping yourself excited and passionate about creating content.

When I was starting out, I realized that selecting a niche I was genuinely passionate about made everything so much smoother. Not only did it draw in a dedicated audience, but it also made the whole process a lot more fun and less like a chore. This is crucial because there will be times when you might not get the views you expect initially—maybe for the first 5-10 or even 20-30 videos. Only if you're passionate about the subject will you keep going. Here's how you can find that sweet spot for yourself. Here's how you can find that sweet spot for yourself.

Identify Your Interests and Passions

Think about what topics you can talk about endlessly. What excites you? Maybe it's cooking, tech, or even quirky facts. For me, it was a blend of historical stories. Choosing something you're genuinely into will keep you committed for the long haul.

Check What’s Already Working

Look at what's already working on YouTube. I spent hours watching successful faceless channels to get a feel for what was out there. Channels that focused on high-demand topics with lower competition caught my eye. Trust me, this step is golden.

Validate Your Niche with Data

Before you dive in, make sure there's an audience for your chosen niche. Tools like Google Trends were my best friends here. I checked search volumes and trends to ensure my niche had staying power.

Examples of Hot Faceless YouTube Niches

To give you some ideas, here are a few faceless YouTube channel ideas that are killing it:

  • Top 5/Top 10 Videos: Who doesn't love a good countdown? From the top 10 travel destinations you need to visit before you die to the top 5 mind-blowing brain facts, these videos are incredibly popular. They're fun to make, and there's a never-ending supply of topics to explore. Plus, creating these lists can be a great way to showcase your personality and interests, making the content uniquely yours.

  • Educational Content: If you have a knack for explaining things clearly and enjoy helping others learn, educational content could be your niche. Think of how-to guides, tutorials, and tips that solve problems or teach new skills. Whether it's tech tutorials, cooking lessons, or language learning tips, there's a huge audience out there looking for easy-to-follow advice.

  • Motivational Videos: Sometimes, we all need a little push to keep going, and motivational videos can provide just that. Sharing uplifting stories, powerful quotes, or personal experiences of overcoming challenges can resonate deeply with viewers. Imagine being that voice of encouragement that helps someone get through a tough day or inspires them to chase their dreams.

  • History and Culture: This is my personal favorite. I like exploring little-known stories from ancient civilizations or unique customs from around the world. While creating such content, not only do you get to learn fascinating new things, but you also get to share that knowledge with a curious audience eager to discover something new (yet ancient)

  • Scary Stories: If you love a good spine-chilling tale, this niche might be perfect for you. Sharing scary stories can be incredibly engaging, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. You can delve into urban legends, recount real-life paranormal experiences, or even write your own horror stories. There's a certain thrill in creating content that sends shivers down your viewers' spines.

💡 Here's a killer trick: I used ChatGPT to brainstorm niche ideas. I asked for 100 ideas and sifted through them to find ones I was excited about and had less competition. It's a super efficient way to explore different possibilities without getting overwhelmed.

Real-Life Inspiration

Take Jensen Tung, for example. He chose "Facts & Trivia" for his channel after getting ideas from ChatGPT.

Or Mission To The Loot, who went with "Horror Stories" and found his unique voice in that space.

Their journeys inspired me to think outside the box.

You know, choosing the right niche is like laying a solid foundation for your faceless YouTube channel. It ensures you're creating content that not only attracts viewers but also keeps you pumped and motivated.

Setting Up Your Faceless YouTube Channel

Setting up your YouTube channel is the next critical step. But don't worry, I've got your back. Let me walk you through the steps I took to set up my channel, and hopefully, it'll make your journey smoother.

Creating Your YouTube Account

First things first, you need to create your YouTube account. It's pretty straightforward:

  1. Sign Up for YouTube: Head over to YouTube and sign in with your Google account. If you don't have one yet, no worries! Just create a Google account first. This part is super simple and quick.

Designing Your Channel's Visual Identity

Next up is designing your channel’s visual identity. Trust me, a strong visual identity is key to standing out. Here's how I did it:

  1. Profile Picture and Banner: For unique and eye-catching images, I used a combination of Midjourney and DALL·E 3. They’re incredible tools! Make sure your profile picture is clear and simple. For the banner, Canva was my go-to. I included my channel name and a tagline to give it a professional touch.

  2. Channel Icon and Art: Your channel icon needs to be recognizable even in a small size. As for the channel art, it should be visually appealing and give viewers an idea of what your channel is about.

Writing an Engaging Bio

Your bio is crucial. It’s like your elevator pitch to potential subscribers. Here's how I crafted mine:

  1. Asking ChatGPT: I turned to ChatGPT for help. You can simply ask, "Hey ChatGPT, can you help me write a bio for my faceless YouTube channel in the XYZ niche? I plan to educate/entertain my audience in the ABC style. I want the bio to be engaging and informative, highlighting what viewers can expect from my content, the unique value I provide, and why they should subscribe. Please also include any relevant keywords that could help with search visibility." It’s like having a personal copywriter.

  2. Include Key Details: Make sure to highlight what your faceless channel is about, what viewers can expect from your content, and any unique aspects or themes. I focused on being clear and concise, avoiding long paragraphs. Bullet points were my friend there.

Remember, first impressions matter, so take your time to ensure your channel looks its best. I spent a good amount of time tweaking and perfecting mine, and it paid off. Now, every time someone visits my channel, they get a clear sense of who I am and what I offer.

Creating Faceless Videos with AI

Now, we're moving to the most important part of the entire faceless YouTube journey - creating the videos. First off, if you're like me and struggle with the technicalities of video creation, AI video generators are your new best friend.

These handy tools take the hassle out of video production by automating key steps like turning scripts into videos and adding visuals, voiceovers, and even background music. Control your excitement, I'd already broken my phone's screen due to over-excitement (a story for some other day...)

Anyways, here’s my step-by-step guide to creating faceless videos:

1. Sign up for an AI Video Generator

So; the first thing you'll want to do is head over to an AI video generator tool. I'd used Fliki; if you want to use the same, you'll need to create a free account - just the usual email and password thing.

2. Start a New Project

Once you're in, hit that "New File" button and select the type of file you want to create. For our purpose, we'll select 'video.'

3. Set the Video Details

Now, this part is pretty straightforward. Name your file, choose your video language and accent (I usually go with an American accent for my audience), and set the aspect ratio. If you're making YouTube Shorts, you'll want to choose portrait mode.

4. Paste Your Script

Here's where it gets fun. Choose "Script" as your input type and paste your script right into the text box from ChatGPT. Break it up into paragraphs for better scene division. Alternatively, you can write your video idea directly in the idea tab.

5. Customize Content Settings

Time to get creative! Choose your media type – whether it's stock media or AI-generated, pick a style (I love the cinematic look), and if you want more fancy stuff, add an AI avatar to present your video. You can also select from various templates and add sound effects if that's your thing. Once you've set everything up, click "Submit" and let it do its magic.

6. Edit Visuals

Fliki does a pretty good job of picking relevant visuals, but you might want to tweak it a bit. Just click on the media icon in your scene, and you'll get a menu where you can choose from Fliki's premium stock media library, upload your own stuff, or generate new media with AI.

7. Change Voiceovers

To switch up the voiceovers, select a scene and click on the voice actor's name. It offers over 2000 AI voice actors in 75+ languages and 100+ accents! You'll be amazed to hear their ultra-realistic voices, almost each voice has a different accent.

For a more authentic feel, avoid using popular or generic AI voices and try to choose something unique that stands out. If you want something even more personalized, you can opt to clone your own voice too. This way, your videos will have a distinct and recognizable sound that's entirely your own.

8. Final Edits and Enhancements

Review your video and make any necessary tweaks. Customize the captions, text font, size, color, and background from the right customization panel. This part is crucial to add extra flair to your video.

9. Download Your Video

When you're happy with your creation, hit the "Download" button. Choose your preferred video resolution and format, then click "Start Export." After it's done rendering, just download your video – you're ready to share your masterpiece with the world (um.. YouTube world)!

By following these steps, I've been able to save tons of time and still produce high-quality, engaging videos. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes.

Uploading the Faceless Video

Now comes my favorite part of the entire journey. Time to upload the hard work we’d done so far (okay, not too hard, lol):

1. Signing into YouTube Studio

First things first, let's head over to YouTube Studio and log in to our account.

2. Uploading the Video

Now, look for the "Create" button on the top right of the screen and hit "Upload video." Choose your video file and let the upload process begin. Trust me, watching that upload percentage go up is oddly satisfying.

3. Optimizing the Title

Make sure your title shines! Use your main keyword to get noticed, and craft a title that's both catchy and descriptive. Think of it like the main headline of a great story; you want people to be intrigued.

4. Write a Compelling Description

Next up is the description. Write a brief summary that tells viewers what your video is all about. Sprinkle relevant keywords to boost your SEO game. Don't forget to add links to related content, your social media profiles, or your website.

5. Choosing a Thumbnail

For those long-form videos, a thumbnail is your best friend. Use tools like Fliki AI Thumbnail Maker. to create something eye-catching.

Take it seriously as a good thumbnail can be the difference between someone clicking on your video or scrolling past it. It's essential to create a thumbnail that not only grabs attention but also accurately represents your video content, setting the right expectations for your audience.

6. Setting the Visibility

Decide when you want your video to go live. You can publish it immediately, have a live premiere or schedule it for later. Choose whether it's public, private, or unlisted based on your preference. I usually go public right away because I'm too excited to wait!

7. Adding to Playlists

Organizing your video into playlists can help improve its discoverability and keep your channel neat and tidy. It's like organizing a bookshelf, and who doesn't love a well-organized space?

8. Adding End Screens and Cards

End screens and cards are awesome for promoting other videos, playlists, or even your channel. Use them to guide viewers to more of your content or external links. It's a great way to keep people engaged with your channel.

Final Steps: Double-Checking and Publishing

Before hitting that publish button, double-check everything. Make sure your title, description, and tags are all spot-on. Preview the video to ensure it looks and sounds perfect.

Once everything's in place, publish your video and then promote it across your social media, website, and any other platforms you're on. Getting the word out is key to driving views and engagement.

Concerns of Monetizing a Faceless YouTube Channel

Using AI Voiceovers

Let's talk about AI voiceovers. Many people worry that using AI voices might prevent them from monetizing their YouTube channel. However, this isn't true.

  • Monetizable AI Voices: YouTube allows monetization of AI voiceovers as long as your content provides value and is original. High-quality AI voices that sound realistic will not get you demonetized.

  • Realistic Voiceovers: AI voices have become very realistic, and voice cloning is making them more personable. This helps make the content more engaging and less robotic.

Creating Original Content

YouTube has strict policies against repeated, generic, or repurposed content. To ensure your channel gets monetized, focus on originality.

  • Fresh Content: Always aim to create fresh and unique content. Avoid simply copying or slightly modifying existing videos.

  • Mix Media: Use a mix of stock media, original media, and AI-generated content. This variety can help your channel stand out.

  • Editing: Make sure to edit your videos well. Good editing can make your content more appealing and professional, increasing the chances of monetization.

Tips for Successful Monetization

To increase the likelihood of monetizing your faceless YouTube channel, keep these tips in mind:

  • Value to Users: Always provide valuable content that your audience will find helpful or entertaining.

  • High-Quality Production: Invest time in creating high-quality videos. Good audio, visuals, and editing make a big difference.
