Two alphabets, one language

Serbian is the European language that genuinely uses both scripts

And the mapping between them is exact, which makes the choice easier than it looks.

Letter for letter, in both directions

Serbian Cyrillic and Serbian Latin correspond one to one: every Cyrillic letter has exactly one Latin counterpart and the reverse holds, with the digraphs lj, nj and dž standing in for single Cyrillic letters. Converting between them is lossless, so either script produces the same read and a script only needs to be consistent within itself.

Spelling follows pronunciation by design

The nineteenth-century reform built the alphabet on one principle: write as you speak. Each letter stands for one sound, with no silent letters and no spelling conventions to learn. For a voice over that means correctly spelled Serbian is read exactly as written, which is rare.

How it works

Generating a Serbian voice over

Pick one script, test a line, write the numbers, export.

Корак 1

Keep one alphabet per script

Either works. Mixing Cyrillic and Latin inside one document is what makes a read feel uneven, and converting between them is lossless if you need to.

Корак 2

Test a line with a surname in it

A sentence with a name, a town and a number tells you how the rest of the script will read.

Корак 3

Write amounts the local way

Use 1.500,50 dinara, with the point for thousands and the comma for decimals, since the English 1,500.50 reads the other way round.

Корак 4

Save the audio or build the video

Download MP3 for a podcast, a course or a phone line, or add visuals and subtitles here and export a 1080p MP4.
