Rioplatense, and then some
Both facts change what a script should look like.
Uruguay uses vos rather than tu, with the verb forms that follow: vos tenés, vos podés. Unlike some countries where voseo is informal only, here it appears in advertising and public communication without hesitation. A script written with tu is immediately recognisable as imported.
Along the frontier with Brazil, communities have mixed Spanish and Portuguese for generations, producing border varieties with their own vocabulary. A campaign aimed at Rivera or Artigas benefits from acknowledging that, while a national piece stays in the Montevideo register everyone hears on television.
How it works
Convert the verbs, accent the text, check the names, export.
Changing the pronoun alone leaves the verbs wrong. Tenés, podés and the vos imperative all have to follow.
Both ship with a sample, so the comparison takes seconds.
Esta and está differ, and names such as Maldonado, Tacuarembó and Paysandú carry theirs for a reason.
Download the MP3 for radio and phone systems, or add visuals and subtitles here and export a 1080p MP4.
