Azerbaijani writes most of what a voice needs to know.

Vowel harmony runs through every suffix
Suffixes change their vowels to match the stem, which is why the same ending appears in several forms. Correct spelling carries that information, so a properly written word is read with the right vowels throughout, however many suffixes it has gathered.
Stress sits on the last syllable
Azerbaijani places the main stress at the end of a word in the great majority of cases, which makes the rhythm predictable even in long suffixed forms. A borrowed word that keeps a foreign stress pattern is worth hearing once before it goes into a long script.
The letter ə is its own vowel
It represents a sound English has no letter for, and replacing it with e produces a different word. Text converted between systems is where it usually disappears, so it is worth a quick check before generating.
Russian and Turkish borrowings sit side by side
Decades of Russian influence and close ties with Turkish have left two layers of loanwords with different pronunciations. Writing them in Azerbaijani spelling keeps them inside the rhythm of the sentence rather than switching the reading into another language.

The Republic writes in Latin letters

Azerbaijan moved to a Latin alphabet in the 1990s, with letters that do not appear in English: ə, ö, ü, ğ, ş and ç. Those letters carry distinct sounds, so text that has lost them through a conversion reads as different words. Pasting the properly spelled Latin version is what produces a clean read.

More speakers live in Iran than in Azerbaijan

South Azerbaijani, spoken across north-western Iran, has more speakers than the Republic does and is written in a modified Arabic script instead. The spoken varieties differ in vocabulary and intonation as well. These voices read the Republic standard, which is the one Latin-script material is written in.
