What decides whether a Sinhala read lands

Four things settled in the text, before any voice is picked.

Written Sinhala and spoken Sinhala are different languages
Literary Sinhala has verb agreement and vocabulary that belong to formal documents, and read aloud it carries that formality with it. For video, advertising and teaching, write the spoken form; keep the literary form where the formality is the point.
Vowel length is meaning, not decoration
