Why creators pick Fliki for Egyptian Arabic

The Arabic other Arabs already understand

Egyptian is the one colloquial Arabic with pan-Arab reach, which makes it a different choice from Gulf or Levantine rather than a regional narrowing.

Cairene, not Modern Standard read aloud

Egyptian Arabic replaces the classical ج with a hard g, so Gamal is Gamal and not Jamal, and it turns ق into a glottal stop in most Cairo speech. Those two sounds alone place a voice. An MSA voice reading an Egyptian script is correct and sounds like a news bulletin, which is the opposite of what social and ad copy needs.

Decades of film and television did the work

Egyptian cinema and TV exported the dialect across the region, so an Egyptian voice reaches audiences from Morocco to the Gulf without subtitles in a way no other colloquial Arabic manages. If the brief is pan-Arab but must not sound formal, Egyptian is usually the answer and MSA is the fallback.

How it works

How to convert Egyptian text to speech

Paste the Arabic, pick a voice, check the numbers, export.

Step 1

Write in Egyptian colloquial

Write the way people speak rather than the way newspapers print: ازاي rather than كيف, دلوقتي rather than الآن. Paste from a plain text source, since PDFs and design files carry the visual order and the voice then reads fragments.

Step 2

Pick a voice

Preview them all and pick on register. Egyptian carries a wide gap between formal and street, and the same script lands differently depending which side the voice sits on.

Step 3

Keep one numeral system

Stay in one numeral system, Eastern Arabic ١٢٣ or Western 123, rather than mixing them inside a sentence. Write currency as ٥٠٠ جنيه or 500 EGP consistently, and override pronunciation on names the engine reads as MSA.

Step 4

Download the audio, or publish the video

Download audio for ads, IVR and e-learning, or pair it with visuals and captions and export a 1080p MP4.
